I received word yesterday that Shaq Stokes ’11 has transferred to Lincoln (NY), a New York City powerhouse that features Lance Stephenson ’09, arguably America’s best player. Stokes, a quality point guard, is leaving St. Patrick’s (NJ), which is stocked full of floor leaders in North Carolina-commit Dexter Strickland ’09, Dean Kowalski ’09, Kyrie Irving ’10, and Kevin Boyle, Jr. ’10. While Stokes may have contributed a bit off the bench for the Celtics, he will play a much bigger role for Lincoln Head Coach Dwayne “Tiny” Morton. Stokes, Stephenson, James Padgett ’09 and the rest of the Railsplitters will be trying to deliver Lincoln an unprecedented fourth consecutive New York City title. All signs point to the squad achieving that task, as the team should be even better than it was last year. Again, Shaq Stokes has transferred to Lincoln, leaving St. Patrick’s (NJ).
