Update on . . . Antoine Allen
by Alex Schwartz
I got in touch with 6'2 point guard Antoine Allen '09 just over 45 minutes ago, and the recent Providence commit informed me that he actually committed on "Thursday." The former Lake Clifton (MD) baller told me that he chose the Friars because the school is "going to build the program around [him]," adding that he "likes the coaches." I inquired of Allen if he was always planning on making a decision just before his senior season, or if it just felt right: "Basically, I wasn't sure when I was going to commit. . . . [I] sat down and talked to my parents and coaches. . . . I was comfortable with my decision." Allen, who is transferring to Notre Dame Prep (MA) for his senior year "just to . . . work on [his] game, . . . [and] get away from home . . . [to] see how it is," ran with Cecil Kirk (MD) for AAU ball. The rising senior is headed from Maryland, to Massachusetts, to Rhode Island.
