Summer Shootout: Cathedral (CT) vs. West Windsor-Plainsboro North (NJ)
Much like last night’s Ewing (NJ)/Hyde (CT) game, this matchup will allow the squads to see some out-of-state talent. West Windsor-Plainsboro North struggled last year and has been playing a lot of summer ball, hoping to improve last year’s dismal record, and is 2-0 thus far in the Summer Shootout. Much of the burden for the Knights will lie on a quartet of rising seniors, Darren Allen, Chris Avino, Brandon Byrd, and Garvin Brown. As for Cathedral, this game will show how the out-of-staters compare to some Garden State talent. The contest has just gotten underway, and I will yet again only have player numbers, not names, as that’s what is in the scorebook.

9:39am- Chris Avino showed some nice hustle on this last play. He got a steal at halfcourt, and then hit the offensive boards to help keep the possession alive for the Knights after #50 missed a long jumper, as the rock went out of bounds off Cathedral due to Avino’s hustle.
9:43am- A basket by Brown has put WWPN up by eight, but not for long, as Cathedral answered with a three-ball. The Knights, though, came right back with a deuce, taking a 38-31 lead.
