Summer Shootout: Bordentown (NJ) vs. New Egypt (NJ)
by Alex Schwartz
Bordentown has lost their top two players from last year, Jon Kohler ’08 and Brandin Youngblood ’08, so the team may well have a rough year. New Egypt is led by 6’8 rising sophomore Desmond Hubert. The two New Jersey public schools will face each other in the second set of games here at the Summer Shootout. The game is about to begin.
7:28pm- Bordentown jumped out to a 4-0 lead. I want to let you know in advance that the scorebook only has first names and last initials for Bordentown and only last names for New Egypt, so that’s why I’ll be writing them that way. New Egypt is in blue and Bordentown is in white.

8:18pm- It’s over, and New Egypt is walking away with a 48-43 win.
Janowski is apparently a rising senior, and his first name is Kevin. He led all scorers with 24 points. Kevin’s father informed me that he is being shown interest by New Hampshire, Binghamton, and some schools in the Ivy League.Gary C. was the top scorer for Bordentown with 11 points. Kevin Janowski is Northstar Basketball’s MVP for New Egypt, while Gary C. takes the award for Bordentown.
